Next Mission Hand Brake .
Don't really have anything at the moment, just got a decent Drum of my other knackered chassis so will clean that up and use it, just about need everything in this diagram except backing plate and drum https://www.lrworkshop.com/diagrams...ake/transmission-brake-except-109in-v8_223#14
Got a good Idea of how to fit them but knowing me will probably get stuck at some point.
Can the shoes and expanders ect be fitted in situ or should I take the whole Backing Plate off to fit them.

I do not have the Hand Brake Lever and all the bits it connects too yet, dont know part numbers or even what they look like yet .
Has anyone got a second hand one for sale ?

I’ve just serviced my brake lever. Not gone inside the drum yet.
There are flamin dozens of bits to the lever mechanism. I didn’t even know it should have had a return spring and what a sod putting that on was. At least that was the only bit I had to source.
Best of luck with finding what you need.

Just fitted this today, will try and photo the rest over the next couple of days...

All the bits can be fitted in situ including the shoes, Doing before fitting the prop drive flange makes it easy.
Gotchas are when fitting the expander the pistons fall out and are then replaced wrong way around resulting in hand brake no worky

You'll notice in my pic not fitted till I get brake shoe kit...

Gtreat job there Mate, I done all my brake pipes a few weeks back. Looking forward to pics of your handbrake, Something thats bothering me is the propshaft bolts on the hand brake drum, mine has them on but cant see how to get them out to renew, they dont seem to bad but will have to find the right size nut to fit.

There is a large/huge circlip that holds a plate on that traps the head of the bolt you would need to remove that...I didnt and re-used nuts as felt it could be a problem with the circlip...the new locknuts that I used on the other propshaft flanges are a different thread pattern although supplied by Paddocks...

Think I will re use mine too, don't have the nuts so will have to find the right ones to fit.

Early hand brake shoes different to later ones
Not hard to strip/clean, just dirty and fiddly

Early car have bsf nuts on hbrake flange, if you think the standard unf ones are an arse wait until you try the bsf ones!

Edit ignore just saw its s3!
