Half shaft issue

Hey guys, just replaced the the swivel bearings and pins on my defender and refitted with new seals and gaskets, but now the half shaft no longer sticks out past the drive flange which means I'm unable to fit the thrust washers and circlip.

It's left me a bit confused so any help is much appreciated.

Ha ha had this the other week doing mine just undo the flange and it should free up the half shaft and it should pull back through

Cheers mate but no luck! Doesn't want to budge. Don't really fancy taking the whole lot apart again

You haven't got the cv fully into the bush in the stub axle by the sounds of it

Shouldn't need to loosen the driving member - there should be a tapped hole at the end of the driveshaft that you can screw a suitable bolt into and pull.

All sorted! Went and had a cup of tea, came back and tried again and it worked!
