Hi, had Irish rover reset all to factory settings along with a immobilizer lock out , dose it now have to learn everything again, i.e.... best mpg, tick over setting etc. the tick over is low at about 550 rpm and seems to be misfiring on one cylinder i notice when i rev the engine the engine has a slight wobble and can feel same through the pedal. not sure if its the head gasket or the engine still learning to run smooth but there is blue smoke when reved up to 3000 rpm, must point out the RR has been standing for over a month or more, still doing bits and bobs before it goes on the road like brake pads door locks that had burnt out motors, window regulators etc.
I am disabled so i get the family to help me with it and do the best i can. could the blue smoke be oil in the cylinder of the misfiring barrel due to standing, id like to take it for a run but its not legal on the roads yet.
how many miles dose it take for the ecu to start to get something like running smooth? some say about 2000 miles others say 200 miles, i think ill know when its running smoother its just this misfire that bothers me because when i run on LPG the tick over is even lower around 350 rpm and likes to cut out in put in drive or turn the steering (still misfires on LPG).
I brought the RR knowing the LPG had a problem with the vaporizer so I've ordered a new vaporizer and stepper motor £189 worth and will fit when it arrives then adjust.
But will i be wasting my time until i run the RR is on the roads for X amount of miles because setting up the LPG now will mean setting up again after the engine runs better on petrol. the misfire is on both petrol and LPG.
So, my problems are Blue smoke when at 3.000 rpm and a misfire and there dose seem to be a little oil in-between the v under the plenum and a little water not a lot though hope thats just the rocker gaskets.
Sorry for going on a bit
