I can't believe it, just my b** luck! :(
Finished a night shift this morning, got home did a few jobs, jumped in the Landy to go to town to get a few parts (only £20) worth of kit, following two cars, the one in front must have been a complete idiot, heavy braking on the slightest of corners down to 30-40mph and rapid acceleration to 60mph on the straights, neither of us could pass him/her

Just my luck we all turning onto the mini slip road that goes off onto a road not far from the Land Rover specialist/parts place, when for some reason the car in front decided to do an emergency stop at a give way sign with NO fecker coming and the clearest visibility junction you could ask for (weird junction layout), the car behind manages to stop but myself with a 2T beast and a slippery road surface had no hope, hard on the brakes, steering to the left but nope, it glanced off the womans VW beetle bumper, needless to say the prat whole had done the emergence stop drove away oblivious of the problem they had caused..

More annoyed that the VW beetle suffered a bad scuff and a 1cm length ding, her bumper looked fine (not saying there may be damage behind it), but it was such a low-speed collision I didn't hardly feel a thing, they felt a bit but not a lot, everyone is fine, except but my pride (7+ years driving no accidents) :( However the O/S bumper was bent in towards the tyre and it's cracked the center part, also the bumper bracket has pulled a small chunk of the wing out, I was roughly estimated £1k replacement/respray/labour :(

I know, I know.. my fault, I didnt manage to stop in time but it's b** annoying the person that caused the incident drove away oblivious.. Last year was crap, this year seems to be getting worse, will my luck ever change :p

Just thought I'd vent that here, may cheer someone up that's having a bad day.. to think I only really went in to get a few bulbs for the heater unit :frusty:

knew I could count on you lot for sympathy :p
Tbh, it's not a road you want to stop on (very small slip road), it's a weird junction setup, been quite a few accidents over the years, I just didnt expect the Landy to slide that far, o well.. lesson learned :(

Oddly enough thats what the land rover parts dealer recommended  Food for thought.. What bugs me about the whole thing is the speed of the collision it was sod all, I had virtualy stopped by the time it clipped her, yet it caused a fair mess to my vehicle  suppose thats plastics for you.. (says somethign when the mechanic bend the bumper back out with his hands).. I see why so many go for the steel bumpers, seen a few today and I must admit I wouldn't want to be hit by one.

That reminds me, I saw a convoy of heavy modified land rovers heading through Four crosses, powys earlier today, very impressive! Was there anything special going on?

Sorry about the accident but if I was behind someone driving erratic , braking and acting unpredictable I would back right off and give them plenty of space. ;)

Usualy I would but he/she was driving a tad slow prior to turning off, completely caught me out when they suddenly stopped! (lesson learned, give these idiots plenty of space!).. main thing is that no one is hurt, few bent peices of metal and plastics can be repaired - shame about my pride. :(

absolutely

Just wondering what everyone's opinions are on this bumper, it seems to be ideal (ok you lose the headlight washers but i'm guessing that's not something to be overly concerned about) It seems to blend in with the vehicle better than some I have seen, looks practical and has the bonus of having fog lights.. opinions/reviews very much appreciated, thanks.

Also I have been warned that the air bag could deploy due to the slight incident, (glitchy), apparently it has happened to a lad at work when he had a slight bump in his disco 1, now I don't know if the lads at work are trying to wind me up, or if there is an element of trueth about it.. can anyone clear this up? (Sounds hard to believe as the incident was extremely low speed, I hardly felt the bump and damage is limited to cosmetic rather than any major components)

Thanks.
