Hi all,
TD5 Auto. I had a coolant pipe replaced and now when I start up I can hear a gurgling sound in the cab. Sounds a bit like water runing through a pipe and I have to top up the coolant a bit. Would it be that when the pipe was replaced an air lock has occured and I need to bleed the system properly?

Its probably a bit of an airlock in your heater matrix, put control to cold before starting engine from cold. make sure coolant level is good. Run engine up to warm then switch heater to hot, this should then quickly flow water through the matrix and flush out the air with a bit of luck.

Update.
Gurgling sound through the heater matrix was because she was losing coolant through the head gasket. see my thread on difficult to turnover. New head gasket and hopefully all will be well. Would recommend British 4x4 for those living in the Pretoria area.
