I am still busy on brakes, suspension etc but I want to feed the relevant part of the new wiring loom down the chassis whilst I have easy access.

But I am already confused.

In the picture below, I think (?) this is the part of the loom that goes down the chassis from near the fuel tank to the rear.

You can just about see 2 medium grommets near the bottom of the photo, and 2 large grommets near the top of the photo.

On the top side of the chassis, there is a hole that looks like it matches the medium grommet near the fuel tank on the RHS, and there is a similar sized hole on the top side of the chassis at the rear RHS.

But the medium grommets are both at what I believe to be the rear end of the loom.

So, I don’t know where these grommets go. I believe the loom makes its way at the rear from the chassis through a hole in the tub floor, so I might guess grommets are needed there.

And i can't imagine trying to get the large grommets down the chassis and in-and-then-out of those 2 holes.

I would also advocate for wrapping the loom in conduit and running it along the top of The chassis rather than through the chassis. Makes future maintenance of both the chassis and the loom much easier and is no less protected than being inside. I have done it with both my series and my defender and it is a common “modification”

This is the advice I was given from an independent LR specialist and an ex mainsteeler mechanic.
Don't go through the chassis.

Are you talking about using a metal bx sheathing ? Or a more flexible rubber product. Would there be an issue attaching it to the chassis?
I used standard corrugated plastic split conduit then Wrapped in tape (loom tape is best but standard electrical will do). And the. Cable tied with heavy cable ties along the top of the chassis. Been like it over 10 years on mine with no issues.
