Grinding whirring noise when in gear??

Is it possible that something, when being forced to move can give the gringing/whirring noise, but under its own steam just free wheeling not do it? Checked the prop shaft today and its perfect :mad:
 
its common for noise only to appear when power is driven through either by engine or road wheels ,knoicking in to neutral means theres no torque been used to drive wheels or engine as in overrun,you need toi check t/box bearings and axle ie diff bearings,cvs etc, removing t/box sump gives you access to t/box bearings ,output you can feel through the flanges
