So this week's new fault is the handbrake light coming on, I have unplugged both the handbrake switch and the reservoir float switch but today when I got off the motorway at Manchester airport it's come back on, if you switch off ignition it goes away for a bit. Is this related to the 3 amigoes as I have always had them on but only sine Tuesday has this light been coming on. Any help much appreciated thanks :)

No new developments so I thought i may as well post some pics...

Haha Marmaduke my Dad said the other week there was someone on here who works with him but owns a defender. I'm going to sell my Range Rover Classic not the Disco I need to build a wall at the side of the house so the rangie will go towards that. He doesn't really like my discovery but to say he drives a Brown Picasso I'm not that bothered :)

Excellent work DieselDog , today I had the exhaust sorted now it a straight through and side exit. Also fitted rear light guards and roof light bar...

So the onset of diesel dripping at the back of the engine has been getting quite bad lately so I bought one of those £40 fuel pressure regulator rebuild kits on eBay. After stripping it down rebuilding and refitting it all is good and no more leaks. I left the pump to run for about a minute and it started fine took it for a spin felt a bit smoother all good so far :)

So once I patched up my hands from all the scratches and gouging after doing the fuel pressure regulator I replaced the fuel filter, I thought rather than doing them together and risk multiple air bubbles I did one purged fuel and then the other. So again left the pump to run for about a minute started straight up again happy days.

Then out of nowhere lots of greyish/blue smoke started coming out of the exhaust I left it to idle and it kept coming out, Then I went to rev it and was absolutely chucking out lots of smoke, then as soon as it happened it disappeared???? I didn't touch the accelerator when letting the pump run initially or initiate the purge process by pressing the accelerator multiple times.

Is it normal to throw out a shed load of smoke after changing the fuel filter? It was quite worrying especially after witnessing it run on its own oil when the turbo went :-/
