Hi all,

I've "lurked" on and off for a few months but thought I'd now take the time to register and say hello properly.
I live with my wife, 4 cats and 3 dogs in a reformed cave house in the South of Spain, out in the countryside in the world of unmade roads.
We moved here just under 18 mths ago from London to escape just about everything that is London, and the UK for that matter. We've reformed one cave house, which we're now living in and have two more on our land that are an ongoing project.
Hopefully I'll be able to contribute to the Landyzone family.

AKA The Silver Surfer

London, A3, M25, craziness, traffic, pollution, over crowding, expensive everything, need I go on? If I'm stuck in traffic here for more than 5 minutes that's a bad day, my council tax is about 10 Euros PER YEAR, my nearest neighbour is about 800m away, i can stand on the roof of my cave house and I've got 360 degree views of the hills, mountains and valleys, the air is clean and fresh, need I go on with that too!

Nowhere near Tarifa, we're about 1hour from the Sierra Nevada.

Pic of our cave house before we got started on the renovation project.

If he was I'd be Thai Boxing his ass into the next province! Here's a photo of one of the unreformed rooms.

The whole complex is over 100 years old and had about 12 rooms, we've now dug that out to about 17.

Cave house ,sounds interesting but think us in manchester will all be living in cave houses pretty soon , the way things are going here at the moment ! but welcome to lz ,im sure you will be addicted pretty soon .

There's 1000's of them here, some fully reformed others derelict and some just needing some tlc. All year round temp of about 18 Deg and in the summer when it's 50 deg C outside it's the people living in houses that wish they had a cave ;)

For anyone interested I've just created a public album with a small selection of photos from the cave reform. I'll add to it in the next day or so but right now my rabbit stew is getting cold!
