LOL you got your tyres sorted then Andy? are you near fleet, i bought some speakers and could do with them being collected not sure if i go past it on the route for sunday ?

Been under the new Disco tonight cutting out some rust and welding new metal in, Them hot splashes of weld aint half hot when they land on your arm, specially when its not easy to move lol, seems to be in pretty good nick really, Its a Safari model not seen many of them about.

Tyres are currently at merityre, just got to wake the defender up tomorrow and take it there.

Get yourself a welding jacket off ebay. Was welding stuff today myself and the jacket saved me from the pain!

+1 on the welding jacket. Saves the arms from UV also. I've had weld splatter sit in my belly button, in my ears. Luckily on both occasions I was sweating a bit in height of summer and the weld sat there sizzling. I use the jacket now. I'm a firm believer in auto darkening helmets now too. So much easier.

What extras does a safari model have then Steve?

It has its own alloy wheels, airbags, air con, soft Abar with spots, rear door ladder,a retractable step for the boot to help get in and chrome side steps.
Was reading up on them apparently only 1100 of them were built, it seems discovery sales were falling so this special edition was meant to help sales, and did you guys know that without the discovery 1 land rover would have ceased to be lol
