Right there is a small upset on one of the other forums I use which has p**sed me off a bit as the admin seem to have ganged up on a member about his actions on a greenlane in derbyshire. Now I was there this day and there was NO damage what so ever and there was no body about to see what was done. The vehicle was take about a Meter off the lane thus the back wheels was still on the lane. It was about 3 weeks ago and as we all know it was very hot so the ground was solid and there was no damage done at all. Now we all know that when you are on a greenlane you must drive sensibly and use your common sence. We dont go out ripping up green lanes.

Ok so the lane in question is Stanage Edge at the top on the flat there is a telegraph pole and a nice bolder which has a run up it. Now the vehicle in question wanted a photo of his axel articulation so put his front wheel on the boulder and thats it guys. So now he is being asked if he still wishes to be a member of the club and all that crap. I personaly think this is out of order and was wondering what you guys felt about it. I do have a photo if you wish to see.....

Myself I see nothing wrong with it, but I guess the club is worried about their name.

Ok, no-one was there to see what he done but it only takes one petty rambler to give us all a bad name!

It wouldn't be one guy testing his axle articulation, it would be "?????? OFF-ROAD CLUB" diverting of the byway and ripping up the country side. We've all seen the letters in the papers with one-sided stories.

I know of a Land Rover club which runs RTV that won't go laning if fear of any back lash from ramblers!

I hope the club he's with, see's it for what it was and nothing more!

(PS. I wouldn't post the photo on the open forum as I know that some ramblers keep an eye on forum like this, waiting for ammo.)

not a problem but as a rights off way worker what you have to remeber that it might be a right of way but the land belongs to someone (ie private land ) and i can tell you that some land owners look for any excuse to have rights of ways down graded or extingwished so it is best not to give them the ammo

No problem with that at all. I like to think that my laning actions are responsible ones however in the eyes of the trampling hoardes I and the rest of the active LR fraternity are all hooligans.
No need for any "Admin" to creat over it cos it's only gonna give us more negative feedback and generate bad press. I think that the "admin" concerned need to think before acting, way before anyone else.

Regards WP.

Nice one guys. I understand the ins and outs but if the prat who had seen the picture in the first place had not put a link to it and pointed it out to the club via a new post then there would not have been a problem. I myself have stopped posting pics on the site now due to problems like this. STUPID. Some ppl just want to get a name for themselfs.....
