Please help.I've never been green laning but want to take the kids,I think they'd love it as opposed to cacking themselves offroading. Are there any good places in the midlands area,or does anyone know how I go about looking? I've put searches in but keep getting Wales.are there any closer to the Birmingham /Wolverhampton area?also what do you all recommend I take with me? Things to avoid?all help will be appreciated, thanks

Don`t go on your own!! Keep an eye out on here, i`m sure someone will sort something but it may involve travelling to get there!

greenlane trips can be arranged to suit your location, but it may involve effort and/or expense on you part

Thanks guys, good advice.I've only showed the kids photos of me offroad that was enough to scare em.I was in a 110 and nearly rolled it. Green laning will be in my freelander which has no mods apart from wheels and tyres at mo. I'm gonna check himley out,see what there is.if I travel too far they'd probably fall asleep when we get there and miss everything.

Get yourself up onto the long mynd at church stretton .Drive across the top until you come to a small coppice of trees on the right. Turn onto the small car park there and imediately follow the track on the left. The first hundred yards is rutted (best go after some dry weather) , then it turns into a solid track (I have seen a morris minor van go down there !). Leave opened gates open , and shut any closed ones behind you .When you get to the bottom , take a sharp turn right onto the tarmac and follow the road for about a mile into Medlicott.Look for a turn to the right with a no through way sign. Go up this lane until you come onto the Mynd again , passing an isolated cottage on your right at a gateway. When you get to the end turn left back along the Burway into Church Stretton. If you want to visit a country pub halfway through for lunch, then turn left at the end of the first track onto the tarmac , go 100 yds. Bend to the right and follow lane for 1.5 miles approx. into Wentnor. Go left into the village and pub is 100yds. on your left .Car park at the rear gives superb views over the Long Mynd. Go on a sunny day , you will not be dissapointed !

The Crown at Wentnor good home cooking have the Game pie or the Rabbit pie only local sourced bunnies & wash it down with a pint of Hobsons Bitter, probably a bit much for lunch but you could allways walk it off on the top of the mynd
