green laning

anybody know where i can go green laning around the sheffield / manchester area

Has to be said, go west from Sheffield into the peaks, Hope, Castleton, Hathersage all have shed-loads of brilliant lanes around them. Get a good map and go with a mate if you haven't been before, preferably more, so at least one of you has a chance of recovering the other when/if it all goes tits-up.

Find a local club - they will have a RoW specialist who will know the area and the standard, and there will be groups of laners. Doing it on your own is unwise - I've SEEN some of the RoW around Sheffield and I wouldn't take my Disco there on my own. Getting stuck could be very embarassing indeed.

am up for manchester way, need to get an os map and sort something out, i don't know any but would be fun finding them
