grease gun

Tried to grease the UJs on my P38,but found the nozzle on my grease gun too large a diameter to fit in the space on the UJ to reach the grease nipple.
I had a look online at draper tools ,but they dont seem to have a smaller nozzle.Anyone know the size to get and where from?

All standard nozzles should fit. UJs usually have the grease nipple biased to one side for ease of access. however if someone has fitted it in the wrong position (UJ wrong way round with nipple towards flange) it may not be possible to connect to it.
In this case the nipple can be replaced with an angled one.

A standard grease gun will not go onto the original UJ nipples on my 2000 P38. I ground 2 flats on opposite sides of the grease gun connector, it fits now and works fine.

i had the problem with the grease gun , when my first miniature gun had broken, i found out that you cannot buy a smaller end , but you can, grind two opposing edges off the end, no more problems since

If you turn the shaft it should. There will be a position where it fits i can assure you. The gap between the trunnions varies as the shaft is turned. Unless as i said before someone has incorrectly fitted replacement UJs.

Not on mine I can assure you. I have tried it jacked up and with the suspension on LOW, I have tried rotating the shaft to all practical positions, it still was not possible to get the gun on. The first time I removed the nipples and put a long extension nipple in, I decided that was too much effort to do every time so I modded the gun.
