GPS problem with co-ordinate format

I want to change the format in my GPS to decimal degrees - any one know how I can achieve this????? Andrew. I know I can change the co-ordinate format by going to a web site but I am 'on the move' in Europe and the internet is not always available.

But on the off chance that someone may not know or indeed give you the wrong answer you thought you'd ask here .

What make and model GPS are we talking here?

What software is it running?

Are we connecting to a laptop or have a stand alone sat nav unit?

One possible answer is:

Options --> advanced options --> Coordinates tab --> Select Decimal Degrees --> Ok --> Ok --> restart

I assume he's now in an area where the internet is not available.
Call me stupid but I'd have googled it for a fast definitive answer especially if internet connection was patchy.
