And what was blue is mine and yes I was reversing as I was hitting the diff on the bottom so lost drive!!

Hopefully I'll get the 110 I'm bidding on soon and I'll have both worlds to play with!! When I've sorted the rusty doors, bulkhead, chasis etc! but hey thats what we do it for isnt it!!

This is true!!! My dad has a gaylander that's why I have photo of me towing him lol. But they ain't that bad.
We went to Wales for a lads weekend and I couldn't complain!?!?!?
 
Not very clear like I said but u can still see me towing a freelander in my 90

Ok guess who got stuck AGAIN! Yep, my gaylander once again. Similar situation, only that this time I wasn't driving it. Spent 5 hrs trying to find someone to rescue me and in the end I managed to find a very very nice chap who rescued me in his Defender.

His Defender literally dragged my completely bogged out gaylander out of a huge ditch as though it was a small tin can. Apparently the guy was laughing because it did it so effortlessly. I was absolutely amazed because my car was well and truly ****ed and I honestly thought it was a tractor jobby. And people wonder why I openly call my car a gaylander?

Now I just gotta get rid of it...

Maybe it is better to think and drive before blaming it all on the Freelander.

I know guys with Series, Lightweights, Defenders and Discos who are well impressed over what my Freelander and I can do with it and where I follow them. There are no childish feelings or remarks like "gaylander" there. :)

Perhaps you should learn to read. If you read what I had said, you would see that I said that I wasn't even driving on the second occasion.

At the end of the day, the Freelander has a limited amount of ground clearance and as soon as that limit is exceeded, you're screwed, regardless of who is driving. So don't give me that. Yes, you could say "well don't exceed your available ground clearance then!" but that can be difficult when you drive through something that looks like a small puddle, only to find that the puddle is actually masking a slippery slide into a ditch. (That is, a ditch that will leave you with absolutely no ground clearance)

A Defender certainly wouldn't have run into any bother in that situation. How do I know? Because it was a Defender that dragged me out of it.

Yes, the Freelander can deliver impressive performance and I will give it that. I have even had Land Rover Experience guys tell me how impressed they were with my Freelander. (I go out on their adventure days) But all 4x4s have their limitations and I think everyone here knows that ground clearance is one of the Freelander's main limitations.

As I said before. It is better to think and drive. Even when you let someone else drive your car.
You should know, when you drive off road more often, never to trust that something that looks like a small puddle is a small puddle. There are some basic rules.
It is also important to know the limits of the car you drive. I wouldn't go on an adventure day with someone who thinks it is just a puddle. :)
