Wire could have fallen off the starter

Been searching about and is it possible it cud be a wire on the alternator coming off ?

Not on the alternator but on the back of the starter motor. Small spade connection that, if it falls off, does exactly what yours is doin.
Could be your starter solenoid sticking too. Mine does that sometimes. Give it a tap with a screwdriver handle or something to free it, either that or a wire directly from battery to starter and then turn her over should do it

I had this same problem, it was a slightly loose connection on the main thick wire from battery to starter motor.
Tightened it up on the starter and hey presto no more problems:)

I hope mines this simple.still got so many things to do to it so dint realy need this annoying problem

all the start motor wires and alternator wires are ok.found the relays and they seem to be fine but still nothing.no glow plug light or anythin.i left the battery off all last nite to see if that wud reset something.but nope

Have you tried jumping straight to the starter . Also have you tried jumping it by + on the car batt and - on the chassis to rule out bad earth line. And check your ignition switch ent
