Part Ex'd my Freelander today. Mixed emotions, new car is much newer and much faster, but the Freelander was genuinely one of the best cars I've ever owned.

Despite being 10 years old it was surprisingly difficult finding something with the same level of gadgets (the HSE was really well specced for it's time!), and the same all weather ability.

Bought the FL on a whim to get me through one winter, I ended up keeping it for 3 years, it was amazingly cheap to run and never let me down. It happily cruised up and down the motorways and proved unstoppable in the snow last year (we had a foot of it here). In it's own way it was also surpisingly fun to drive.

If anyone is lucky enough to purchase YB04 FTV, please take care of it, you've got an really good car there.

Thanks to everyone on this forum for the advice - it's been a brilliant resource for keeping my FL going, and helping me perform some little mods that made my FL almost perfect (e.g. a remote control for the FBH).

:)

What did you buy mate? ...all the best with your new motor -see you around :)

Yup, Volvo.

Thought hard about an FL2, but seeing as the name is supposed to be being dropped soon I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a car that would quickly feel obsolete.
