Was in Easons reading room.

Noticed a good article in Car mechanics magazine (August edition),

It was a cam belt change in Rover 75 V6, good piccies and showed cam locking tools.

Makes it look easy ;)

Changed mine myself. it wasn't hard to do but very time consuming as you have to unbolt a lot of bits. ( seemed to loose alot of skin of me knuckles too ) I had to make a tool up to hold the crankshaft pulley so I could undo the bolt holding it on.

EDIT: Cancel this requst, I've found your previous post ianda12. Thanks.
Hello ianda12

I was wondering if you could put up a photo of the crankshaft pulley tool you made? I'm looking to do the cam belt change on my v6 hippo in a few months.

Thanks.

You need a piece of bent flat bar to fit into the groove in the pulleys to slightly move and hold them when fitting the two small timing belts. I marked the belts and its corresponding teeth and counted the teeth betwwen the marks to make sure it went on correctly, as the camshaft could move a little when the old belt is removed. ( one did and ond didn't move )
