I am going to have another go at trying to find the cause of a vibration have tried a few times and given up - symptoms vibration more of a shudder through the car getting progressively worse the faster I go - plus 70 bad plus 85 nightmare - all bushes were replaced within last two years as were shocks it happens on two separate sets of wheels and tyres replaced the front prop uj joints there seems to be no play anywhere on rear - the front has new ball swivels wheel bearings drag link steering damper shocks and track rod just dont know where to look next any ideas welcomed ta also why would it be at high speeds only and be intermittent ???:confused::confused::confused:

Driving at or below the national speed limit may help.:D:D:D

TTrrrruuuueee of course I only drive in excess of 70 mph when abroad :D:D
seeing as it comes in at high speed might just change the uj on the rear prop also this will sound a bit daft but it feels as if the rear is steering almost loose yet have checked panhards and all bushes - could the rear shocks be on the way out today it is a poxy car but tomorrow will be different no doubt

I would get the tracking checked, had that on my MR 2, turned out that there was a very small amount of toe out, courtesy it turned out of my lad kerbing it.

funnily enough I hit a huge pothole over in Germany last month a real beauty thought I had bolloxed the tyre dented the rim so changed all 4 wheels to spare set but did not do tracking might get that done as I can sit inside no getting cold

What model have you got, it could be a diff starting to wear have is the vibration there all the time at high speed or can you make it come and go with throttle and brakes...

Have you had the parking brake drum off latley, could that be not sitting correctly or out of ballance some how...?

I have a wheel ballance type of vibe on my 2000 4.0, but I think I may have a flat spotted rim, have you got alot of wheel weights on one rim, it may not be ballance but its out of shape...?

Hi, I can't help you but just thought i'd let you know i have the same prob with my white p38, comes in at 75mph worse at 80 but I only use it for work 2 miles each way and towing 55 mph max so not going to worry about it.
