Look matey the only way any body can help you is if you can get the facts right!

In your last thread you say it's a vacuem system that you have fitted!

The 300tdi used a vacuem system for the cruise control, the TD5 is electronic.A vacuem system is not going to work on a TD5.

PS: Mine's a 2000 and it works perfectly

to jason,if you check i have said all along it is a td5 disco and said i checked vacuum pipes because i was advised to,i am learning as i go

my brake lights failed and knocked out the cruise control, as the cruise control safety cutout works on the brake light switch, a new switch sorted them both...

Carrying on like this it will be me going mad  (er)

What vacuem pipes???

The Discovery TD5 Cruise control is operated by a master switch on the dash under rear wiper switch and a set/reset switch on the steering wheel.

I have a 2000 d2 and the cruise control is worked on a vacuum. there are 2 throttle cables , one for pedal and one for cruise . the one for cruise is attached to a diaphram which is operated by a vacuum pump more vacuum = more throttle hence vacuum pipes

the switch on the dash and the set resume switch tell the vacuum pump what to do

but thats a petrol right?

as far as i know you can just fit the controls and it works but only on the td5

Taken off evil-bay where I bought my kit:

This will enable your vehicle to have the full use of the cruise control unit already fitted to your 98 - 2004 Disco, Installation takes around 40 minutes to 1 hour.
Just to answer a few of your questions, Every single Disco 2 TD5 from 98 - 2004 rolled off the production line having had fitted the cruise control ECU, all the wiring looms, and absolutely everything required, apart from the switches. They were just dependant on wether the original customer build required this function, in which all that was to be done was to add a steering wheel with the switches and to fit the master switch. So yes to your questions, this kit is all that is required to completely add cruise control to your vehicle, but please feel free to ask any further questions, whether spec / fitting / fitting support.
Note: This is not compatable with the petrol V8

i fitted it to my 99 with no problems just fit the 2 switches but if i rember one of the swithes there are is two part numbers depending on year never did any thing with the brake light switch
