Goddam P Gasket

Morning Chaps,

Looks like the P gasket has gone again on the Discovery (300tdi).

Going to sort it this weekend, but does anyone know if there is some kind of uprated gasket that I can get or just the standard one?

Any ideas what could have made it go again? It's been just under 12 months since it's been done and covered about 2,000 miles with no issues.

Hi Matt, I've done loads of these without any further issue, so sadly I think it's down to incorrect installation.

Did you use Blue Hylomar between the surfaces?

did you use a metal gasket? the paper ones are ****e.

No, the mechanic who fitted it for me didn't use any sealant but did use a metal gasket.

I'm assuming this is what has cocked it up.

He is a top geezer and doesn't charge us a lot at all, so I'm not too upset with him over it.

I will just do it again myself and use loads of sealant this time.

Blue is best eh?
