Sounds like an unuterably stupid idea. Putting a whacking great over the top American Engine in a completley not over the top, classless British Land Rover that can still wipe the floor with the best of them? Its up to you I guess

Not a good idea really, to heavy, will need a lot of work to fit . Perkins V8 Too big , as well About the biggest lump is a 4 cylinder about 3.9l diesel. eg cummins 4bt , 4/98 leyland or 4/236 perkins . still a lot of work, but gearbox will handle power (for a while at least) Front springs will need replacing (heavy engines) possible transfer box gearing change (as they a low revving engines) eg 2600 limited HTSH better off fitting 300tdi or TD5 and tweaking

There's a Series 3 round here with one in.
He uses it in Tractor pulling competitions - sounds awesome with 3" headers coming straight out through the tops of the wings.
 
can i get a picture of that please for my album, sorry i know im a spotter but in years to come we will be saying what ever happened to those fits you know the diesel v8 or 200tdi fits rare as it is though every other land rover has been coverted at some point in its life time now, also any v8 diesel landy or rangey for sale oh and please dont e-mail me my e-mail account has gone wrong and the things gone tits up,
