Afternoon/evening all

I have recently found that my 200tdi glow plugs aren't wired up and its something i'd like to do. I have bought a new glow plug timer but i'm slightly unsure which wire goes where and where abouts under the bonnet they are run.

Its only the 2 big wires i'm unsure of but i think they go like this.....yellow/black to glow plug number 1 and brown(pre 1995) or brown/orange post 1995 goes to the positive on the battery?

Any pictures where they run under the bonnet and how they connect to the battery would be great. I know i could run them anyhow but i rather things be exactly as they were.

Just nipped out to look at the one on me bus (don't think there's much difference). Don't ye have a big connector block that fits into the bottom of the timer? Like this..

the yellow and black does go to the glow plugs, the brown wire ah'm not too sure on just now... didn't hang about out there as it's -6C. ;)

ere your filter was made by the lowest bidder...........;)

Ah prefer not to "stick it on and forget about until next year... or whenever" tho' mate.
Like ah said, it get's changed at least twice a year and the bus isn't hard pushed;)

i don't stick it on and forget about it, i have never had a problem with a fram filter in 12 years of fitting them to both myown and to customers cars....unipart on the other hand.......

Never had a problem with the unipart mesel'.. but it depends on who stocks what and who is open on the day ah decide to do an oil / filter change and what is in stock.
Just out of interest... isn't it fram that make the unipart filters? Well that's what ah've been told.. not that it matters to me;)

Nearly furgot:doh: the manager in Partco (who happens to be a friend o' mine) also said that fram make the unipart filters.... and TBH, ah quite believe him.. no reason not to;):D

Thanks Buster your a top man, really appreciated. I have the same setup as you except mine is located on the right hand side of the bulkhead like so

The 2 big wires on mine were cut and just tapped over so was unsure where to run them. I'm still unsure if i just run the brown direct to the battery or if there is a specific fused place it should already come from??

And i guess the yellow/black wire that goes on to the glow plug goes on the one closest to the bulkhead?? The one on the left?

I too also have a Unipart filter, and a big oil leak :p

Hi guys,

Jus a little update that may help someone else out in the future. I finally managed to find out where the constant 12v supply that feeds the starter relay comes from. It's from this little lug here

And a bit closer

Although i must admit I accidently connected the lives back up to this point here which shorted my whole landy and drained the battery in about 5 seconds flat!!
