hi all

as some may know, because theyve given me some great help
im ressurecting a freelander
i have a question about glow plug light
my freelander is a 2002 td4 es
the glow plug light has never been on in the few weeks ive had it
it starts perfectly, standing for a week fired first time
my question is,does the light come on?
if so could the bulb have gone?
its got the old rover type clocks fitted
my wife has a bmw car with the same engine in
and ive only seen the glow plug light come on a handful
of times and it was well below freezing
cheers all

As I have just replaced 4 glow plugs on my TD4 2006 freelander I can confirm Yes the glow plug light does come on but the duration is related to the temperature it only comes on for seconds when ignition is turned on then thats it starts straight away.

No, it shouldnt always come on.

The temperature has to be below a certain point... I think around 5 degrees.
