Hi all,
I've just bought a 2002 Defender 90 TD5 County with a GKN Overdrive fitted. The overdrive has a controller which is supposed to prevent it being engaged below 30 mph or in 1st and 2nd gear.

The controller has been bypassed so you can activate the overdrive in any gear at any speed essentially giving a transmission with 24 gears!

Does anyone know if I'm likely to damage the unit if I use it in low gears, perhaps exceeding the tourqe rating for the unit?

Should I get the dealer to replace the controller?

Many thanks,
