Sad news.
After all the trials and tribulations detailed in this thread my Landy journey is coming to an end. Due to various unforeseen circumstances and further changes anticipated soon I am having to give up the restoration. I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone on this forum for the support, advice and kind words over the past four years. I am also selling the old girl (still in many bits) if anyone is interested!!

Gutted for you - seems like you'd already done most of the hard work. Good luck with the sale.

Really enjoyed reading this thread!!
Wish I had some readies as I would take the old girl off your hands in a heartbeat!!
It's a shame after all the work you have done!
Hope she goes to someone who has as much enthusiasm for her as you have shown for her!!
Rich

OK the decision has been made to keep her!!!
The compromise is that a local mechanic is going to get her running as a rolling chassis and then I can finish off the body work and the peripheral bits.
So as of today she is moving off my drive (4 years to the day since she arrived on it!) and living 5 miles away in a warm workshop until she purrs like a kitten (or just grunts like an old sow!)
So now I need to get back on the trail of window seals, tub sections and the other missing bits.
Thanks for all your kind words during my down time; things are looking brighter.

Great news! Glad you've found a way forward.

Gosh! My heart was in my mouth as I read these final pages to see you were losing her for reasons beyond your control.
Then a rabbit-out-of-the-hat in the last posts to see you are getting to keep her after all your really hard work.
Phew! Really pleased for you.

Glad to hear you're keeping her - have thoroughly enjoyed reading your experience! Gives me some hope with mine (although I'd kill to have a bit of *actual* room to work in! AND a driveway! Luxury :D

Big pause would suggest problems!! However, taken the opportunity to get body work sorted. I do have one problem: lost the timing pointer bracket!! Does anyone have one kicking about a workshop I could buy because Craddock want to charge a fortune and then add stupid postage!!

Long time no see!!
The old girl is back on the drive! Needs cooling system sorting next. Need this sun to keep shining!

I know that it's probably in the wrong order and will cause me problems later but it made me happy and the wife is happy that we have a vehicle on the drive and not a pile of scrap metal!

Rough old tub.

Couple of coats of primer.

Fixing the tub supports.

A coat of the thick gooey black stuff.

Fitting them funny fibreglass insert bits. (Technical terms, as always!)

Resting in place, it's now getting a bit dark....

Add more later.

A lick of paint, some capping (wrong way, I know....) and that all important badge.

Then them funny tin can screw in light fittings; left

And right

I think they might be my most expensive single outlay so far!!
Capping sorted and sides offered up before fitting the seals.
