just been down to the coast with the GF to pick up her new car. Deal I drive her down, she drives the new car back. No worries. Turns out the new car is an auto and she is not happy to take on the N340 ( The road of death) until she is used to it. Suggests she drives the Disco and I drive the new car. Usual debate, usual result. I end up driving this poxey blue Peugot 206. Its quite strange watching your own car. I am seeing what other people see ! LCD tail lights look nice, gotta sort that rear step piston out. Ditching the spare tyre cover was good..looks better. Then I become aware of other drivers behaviour towards the car. Its a magnet !! Trucks let her out, drivers dont tailgate, young men pull up alongside and hesitate to overtake. Never happens to me!! So girls, the combination of chunky Disco and female works... get one. I look at other Discos as well, but thats a man thing.

So thats why the wife prefers the Discovery to her 206 lol, no wonder she wasn't in a hurry to get hers back after the work and mot was sorted on it.

Im a taxi driver, When I see a small car,new or newish I know the driver will / not know the road markings or speed of said road,,will never look to see if there is a car behind // and think the car is as wide as a buss // Big car's and Suv's....enough said...

LOL, I traded in my 206 for my disco 2 and I can't say I've noticed that attention. Just glad people don't push me around the road anymore.

Well, you've ticked at least one box so far :D

Try it with the window down more often, perhaps allow a small portion of hair to blow in the wind.

Then you could be on for a few honks :D

I'm not bothered by honks, as long as they don't get in my way I'm happy.

Would like to say I'd ram them but like my car too much.

My daughter borrowed my 300 tdi, liked it so much she has now got one herself, got it cheap because the owner had dragged the n/s down the rear edge of waggon, (needs 2 doors and rear 1/4 panel), after going to Tesco week after week shopping she has now realised that when people see the dints they don't park next to her, its great she said plenty of room. Makes you think. (saves me a job)

Can't say i've really noticed any difference in the five years i've owned mine apart from men tend to seem a bit shocked when i can reverse with or without a trailer on and in lanes better than they can!!! lol

i dont mind women driving cars or even land rovers. but was scare me is my lass driving mine. she took my old astra out one day and came back with a dint in every panel. am a wreck when she goes out ha ha

lol i love it theres just this stigma attached to us women that we cant reverse truth of the matter is most of us are better than men, think horse boxes etc!!!!

I can sympathise with that.

the wife's got a ford KA, we had a dwarf wall between our house and the next once. I came home and the KA had a flat tyre and the rim was totally *****d, the dwarf wall was smaller too. I asked what happened and was told, "oh, i might have clipped the corner coming in", fu*k me, if thats clipping it its agood job she didn't hit it:eek:

The N/S rear quarter has a big scrape now, what happened? "The space was a bit tight a sainsburys", jesus its like the car was a free gift and we have plenty more! Luckily it was a bollard not a car on the receiving end.

Can she drive the landy was the last question, i haven't stopped laughing yet:rolleyes:

Your mean. I pride myself on my driving and the fact that I can do it better than most men. My chap thought I would fail big time once I had mione with a trailer on the back but one journey by myself and I had sussed it all out and can easily drive with the horse box etc.

My boyfriend can't chat anything seeing as he crashed his 90 in to the back of his dad's 90 in the field at 2mph.

No, its just the mrs i think, treats the car like a shopping trolley:mad::mad:

LOL

i wont passenger with our lass.
unless i'm ****ed or asleep. and even then i dont like it.

but she can reverse the trailer, which i was quite surprised at tho wouldnt dare let her on the main roads with it. scared she'd forget it was there when cornering or jumping out from a junction!

I don't get given the choice, been told if I drive the car I have to be able to drive a trailer.

Get everything put on me, be it bails, a tonne of logs or a 1000litre water tub! That last one is scary though!

Think you should all have a little more faith in your lady friends.
