Looking for wisdom again before taking passenger door apart!
ONLY WHEN WET intermittently the door open warning comes on.
Process of elimination seems to verify that its the front nearside door.
Worst thing is when parked up and locked at night, and it rains, the open door sensor turns on all interior lights and sets alarm off! Neighbours love me for it! :(
Lamps all removed from lights in case lack of current drain might save alarm sensing!
I can see now why both horn cables were disconnected when I got it home from purchase!
Any ideas?
As when wet, door wiring loom, shorting to earth? any known faults?
Microswitch in lock / handle, are these known to short / fail? Can they be replaced without whole lock assembly?
Any help appreciated as now leaving it unlocked in case it rains! (how do I word that on any future insurance claim!)

It's probably the door open sensor that's getting wet when it rains. The lock assembly isn't easy to strip, repair and reassemble although possible.
It's shared with the Rover 75, so often the R75 part is cheaper than the LR version. I'd avoid second hand as the life expectancy is unknown.
If everything else in the door is working, you could cut the door open sensor wire at the door pillar harness, although this would deactivate the alarm on the door affected and stop the interior light from working on that door too.

Great places these forums! Heads up somewhere detailed it as the purple and white trace wire inside the door loom.
So, card removed, unclipped loom best I could and started tracing each wire!
Felt a snag on a wire near the loom entry into the door, see attached pi, fettled it back out of the door, and there it was, chafe on the purrple / white wire! Think when wet this was enough to cause a "ground" falsely sending door open condition!
Needless to say, made good the best I can, lets see if it was the cause and if I have bodged, sorry repaired it!
All I have to do now is try and source a replacement speaker as realised that it wasn't working before putting door panel back together!
