Can anyone on here give me a link or list of what I should get done or buy before going.
Someone said jate rings? How are these attached? Welded??

check your tyres, make sure you don't go alone (2'nd car just in case you get stuck) and go greenlaning.
find a nice easy green lane and drive it. you don't need jate rings, lift kits or any of the other stuff to start off with, just a decent set of all terain tyres will do ya:D,a tow rope and shackles would be an idea though;).

Invest in a set of Steel wheels. Plenty of Freelander steels going cheap on eBay. The get some off road tyres for them.

I have bfg at on there at mo seem good. Don't know many places yet. Just had a drive down nightingale lane off the a127 was a bit of fun.
Where is it best to get the tow rope and other bits from?
Also is there a website that tells you what lanes and how bad they are.
I need the car for work but want to do a bit greenlaning

If your ever anywhere near Billing Aquadrome there is usually a guy there most weekends come show season or maybe even now with all the types of stuff you are mentioning at pretty cheap prices. Apart from that eBay.

where abouts is that Sasha ? fairly regularly in the vicinity of m25/a127, would like to have a look, specially if it's freelander friendly...

tried a google etc but drawn a blank. if you don't want to reveal the location on an open forum (some things are best kept secret to keep the idiots from trashing it) please pm me.

No, OS Maps FTW!!

Just double check that the byways on the map are legal + open.

Sorry what's ftw??
Also how much better is trailwise when your registered?
I have memory map with landranger on my iPhone and have found some trails on that.
But would trailwise give me more info if I'm registered.
I've seen that trailwise give you landranger free as long as you have Internet.
