Well ... wish me luck.

I'm making my way up to Abersoch today, and all going well I'll be chugging up, and down those lovely Welsh roads, and crawling down the M5 to it's new home in Pastie Land:D.

Hopfully the missus will have put plenty of beer in the fridge for my return !!

Here's a pic :

Have fun gofish, and ignore the prick above, wait 'till he has a serious problem with that piece of ****e.
BTW, she looks "tidy" as a Taff would say.

You obviously don't know much about Land Rovers otherwise you wouldn't have bought a Land Rover in the first place.

The reason I now own a Land Rover is because I used to own a Toymota... and it were ****e!

Well, made it back without any problems.

The Landy is in really good nick.

Full 12 months of MOT, and the chassis has never been welded!!! ( looked, and sounded solid)

The engine is amazing dry too.

There's the odd bubble on the paintwork- the sills on the drivers, and tailgate door looks like it could do with some attention, but otherwise.. BLOODY GREAT.

The only real problem is the steering, in that a VERY small wheel ( I'll post a pic later)has been put on, and with no power steering... !!!!! My arms were shagged after 300 miles driving it!!

I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised with the performence:eek:

Ok, it's not got a high top speed, and it may take a while to get there, but I thought it delivered smooth, and touquey power that for most driving is fine, cruised nicley at 55 on the straight, and still had bit spare to overtake.. It was a pain on long steep hills ( like the ones in Wales) - I found I was jumping from 3rd to 4th a lot...

I've not calculated it yet, but I reckon I was getting mph in the 20's.

Yeh.... so I'm chuffed to bits.

I'll post a load of pics later.

errrrrrrmmmmm.... I wish I had checked the trye pressure before embarking on my journey home.

Checked them yesterday... 24psi :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

No wonder the bloody steering was heavy!

Now at 55psi... and the steering is as light as feather:):):):):) ( well relatively anyway)

Bet I'll get better MPG as well.

Do I get a muppetry certificate for this?:D

I think 55psi is a bit too high and could have an adverse effect on grip and tyre wear.
I always used 40psi on my n/a 90, as a compromise between steering weight, grip (especially in the wet on tarmac) and tyre wear characteristics.
Just my personal opinion you understand!
There's a whole thread on tyre pressures on here somewhere - try doing a search.

Yeh.. I reckon I will:p

Put the roof rack on today.

Have to say I was really impressed with Jonh Craddock Ltd.

I placed the order online on Monday.. rack and ladder arrived Tuesday- and free delivery.

Can't fault that !!:)

Here's some piccys of my Landy.

So far... she's running great.

I can't believe something sooo slow, and sooo noisy could be such good fun to drive.

Wish I brought one years ago.:p
