genuine oil filter too long

Hi i purchased a new oil filter for my 2002 td5 a lpx100595 from land rover but when i came to fit it it was too long and would not fit as it fouled the oil return pipe from the turbo. I had to go to my local car parts supplier who gave me a Mahle one which was shorter and fitted easily, why did the genuine one not fit?

Sounds odd !.

I use genuine filters with no issues.

Perhaps tge turbo oil return pipe has been bent ?.

You should be using LPX100590
