Hi Chaps,

When I was changing my rear airsprings last weekend I noticed on the passenger side of the rear axle there was an object that I can't describe much better than a "thing" on the axle or very nearby.

It looked a bit disc like, almost like a car horn or some sort of accumulator. I have absolutely no idea what it is or what it is for. I suspect someone will know straight away.

If no one knows what I'm on about I can take a picture! Perhaps something regarding the TC?

99 P38 4.6 Thor

front left of the axle, next to the prop shaft to the left of the diff looking forwards. Perhaps 8" in diameter its circular and aligned with the wheel.

there is one on the gearbox on mine, don't remember one on the front axle, Wammers would know for sure.

Just done a quick google image search and that's definitely the chap. Virtual pint to you good sir.

Been annoying me all week as to what it did!

Having driven the car to greggs and back today for a pasty... I can confirm that the harmonic damper is still doing its job.

Maybe these are actually a P38's testicles... Actually becomes a meaning to the phrase "up to my balls in it" when offroading!
