hello
When i select the low range from high and as soon as the transfer is completed and low is on the dash when i put D or R or anygear a high bang and clonk is heared and gears slip the same way like when u put 1st gear on a manual gearbox without applying the clutch.then select nutral comes.whe i repeat it 4 2 times it works normaly again and no bang is heard.fluid is ok.is that normal 2 happen? The last time i used the low range was a month ago.is it relevant?thank you

Hi Jorjio
Sounds like it's not fully engaging the first time you do it and when you repeat it, it does fully engage. In theory, it shouldn't show that it is engaged when it isn't. When you see 'Low' on the dash, are you sure it isn't still flashing? If you just glance at it, it would appear steady. If it's flashing, it isn't fully engaged and you would get the effect you're getting. It takes a few seconds to change from high to low. Be patient! It is a known problem also though if they aren't used, they will stiffen or sieze up. Secret is to 'exercise' them on a regular basis.
Engine temperature is irrelevant.
