Considering a 77 as I know of one just down the road but hoping to do a straight swop in and out....or should that be out and in  because unplanned spells off the road make my life bloody complicated....

Maybe I should get another landy to use as back-up.......Oh wait......I got another......Oh its not on the road

if yours a series other than series box is more effort than you realise i meant use carrier or i could get price if you wanted

Thanks. Yes I realise........thats why I'm looking for another series box. Looked into fitting a 77 when I put the 200 in but had a good series box so I went with that and O/D.........anyway, not got the time to fiddle about now, got a few leads on local boxes but if they turn out to be dead ends I'll have a chat with the Dr and appreciate your offer

OK.......this is now officially doing me head in :frusty:

Just had a mechanic mate over and took him for a drive fully expecting 3rd to be horrendous and all was quiet and smooth :confused:

Went for a blast being none to kind to the box and discovered the following.....no noise until I selected 3rd low box-much worse on overrun.

Highbox 4x4 lever siezed (dont use it often) but may not be fully up (disengaged) so I'm now wondering if the day before yesterday on the way home it was so bad because 4x4 was still engaged and having diconnected the front hubs I wouldn't have noticed.

Is the noise caused by high 4x4 lever partially depressed?
Would it be worse when in 4x4 via lowbox?
Why is it so much worse in 3rd gear?

Losing the light now but tomorrow I'll unseize the high 4x4 lever and see where that takes me.

Releived that I at least have a useable vehicle considering that on Thurs I thought 3rd was about to blast its way up through the floor

is it noisy in 3rd high, i would need to talk to you about exact symptoms ,shaft behind tin cover often seizes where it comes through ali housing

thanks James, I'll unseize shaft tomorrow and take her for a good drive. Symptoms are a little unclear at the moment as she had been shaking and rattling all over the place due to a feeked rear prop and perished engine mount rubber....both now sorted so hopefully I can narrow it down.
Thurs it was very noisy in 3rd high:eek: but not today:confused:
