Gearbox noise

My 200tdi Defender has started making a noise when driving sounds like from gearbox/bellhousing area it’s like gears aren’t meshing causing a rattling noise it’s does it in every gear except for 4th and at tickover(but not as load) also goes away when I press the clutch pedal in(poss release bearing?) I’ve uploaded a video to YouTube hopefully someone here can tell me what is causing it.

Was fine driving from my house to parents 5miles got in to go home and the noise was there and got worse as I drove

Initially, it sounds like the clutxh release bearing ... However, I have been known to be wrong - - - once!

Usually things that appear in all gears except fourth are related to the layshaft as all the gears use that except fourth.

Bearings or something unhappy in there.

as above if different in 4th its lay shaft connected

I hope not the gearbox as it’s a recon one although it may still be under warranty I’ll have to check receipts. Hopefully just a bad release bearing I’m sure it’s a HD type release bearing everything clutch wise was replaced brand new last year when done the chassis in 2017

If it’s the layshaft would you still hear it at tickover?
