Hi there!

Im in the middle of swapping my LT95 for alovery LT77!

The swap has ground to a hault as i have just found out the LT95 mounts are different form the LT77 :(:(

Im after the brackets that directly attach to the gear/transfer box only as i can still use the mounts that bolt onto me shassy!

Has anyone got any spare laying around??:D:D

Iv tried the for sale section to no goodness. Iv also tried me local dealer and theyve quoted me 24 quid for one side and 96 quid for the other side......bizzzzare!

Also has anyone done this swap? Do i need different props?

Cheers, Scott

Sorry for the late reply Beast o Bodmin iv just got back home!

yes i need the mounts for the gearbox! and if you need the mounts of my box iv just taken out then your more than welcome!

Also if your doing the swap the other way round to me we could posibly do a swap with the props?

very interested in this - I'm debating whether or not the hassle will be worth it to swap out the LT95 in my Rangie for a five speed - I could really do with a five speed as will be driving it to South Africa in a few months.
can I pick your brains - Am I reading it correctly from your post that the chassis mountings are in the same place on LT95's and LT77's? Was the LT95 factory fitted to your car or is it a modification (hence why mounts are in the LT77 location)
cheers -

The LT95 i have just taken out wasnt standard with the landy but was in when i got it.

Its looking like the gearbox will fit int the same place however it is the engine that will have to be moved with the gearboxes being different sizes.

Also it is looking like at least one of my props will have to be change also!

All in all i think (For me) and deffo with you driving to south africa its a worth while swap for the 5th gear alone.... However im doing it for all the benifits of the 200tdi aswel.

Yes the LT95 maybe bombproof but i found it to be lacking somet..... another gear!

I have the transfer box from a Disco attached to my gearbox which (Im told) gives me all the top end speed (Tyres permitting) of the disco but all the low range of the Defender!

Hope this helps mate, let me know if you need to know anythin else!

Scott

cheers Scott -

I did some calculations, and with the larger diameter tyres I've fitted, the gearing isn't too tragic with the LT95 - 3000rpm at around 70mph. I've fitted a 2.8 Isuzu diesel in though and it has a bit more poke than a TDi and it is crying out for an extra gear.
Then i settled on finding a high ratio output gear which would drop it down a few hundred rpm at motorway speeds, but it now looks like I have a decent oil leak from the front output seal, so the 'box needs to come out anyway.

just wish it was a bit warmer out and I had a garage...
