Hi Guys & Gals

Please can someone tell me if a Range Rover P38 Manual Gearbox for a 4.0l petrol will fit in a range rover P38 diesel with a BMW engine

I would say no as the bell housing would be different and I would also expect the gearing to be different inside the box.

Why do you ask this question for is your box on it last legs or damaged

no straight fit but other r380s can ve converted using parts from old box ,whats the issue with yours

I've been having gear box issues for a while now but haven't been able to track the problems down for the last few weeks all gears were difficult to get now they seem to be improving when I change up the box but sticky when I change down yet I have done nothing to it, it seems to have made these changes all on its own ( spooky hey ) so I was going to look into changing the gearbox and do the clutch while I was at it so I just wanted to know if the boxes where inter-changable

Thanks for your help

Manual gearboxes don't have an oil cooler you can block with fog lamps. It is in the bottom of the radiator.
