Gearbox & Diff Fluid changes

Hi Guys
How often should they be done, have only own this one for 2 weeks
Have a manual gearbox

What fluid can i get away with, does it have to be what the manual (RAVE) recommends?

or can i fit what the father & brother in law fit in their disco's.

Reason for asking if i can fit the same as them it is free as they keep drums of the stuff for their motors and tractors and stuff.

Also it will be easy to use their fluid filler up thing.

Also how hard is it to change the oil seal in the rear of the transfer case as i have a leak on to the handbrake drum

transfer box oil seal is pretty easy, hardest bit can be getting the prop off. oil for the diffs is castrol syntrax, gearbox is mtf 94 or any full synthetic manual gear oil and the transfer box is atf. i think the interval is around 70k.
