gear changing

hello to you all new to the site got a 1995 300tdi just had it i have found that if i let the clutch out to fast in the gears when im changing i hear a slap/clonk noise it sounds like its coming from the back not sure though also if i let the clutch out slowley i cant hear it can any one tell me what they think it is

Rubber doughnut on the rear of the propshaft possibly.
Just had mine done, same symptoms.

is it a big job??

To be honest when i was having the clutch done my landy guy stuck one on as it was knackered. Dont think its a big job no, but i "think" you unbolt the rear prop, 4 bolts. But someone who has actually done the job will tell you.
Its only a rubber bush, just a big doughnut really.

simple job.

also check the rear a-frame ball joint.

donut is a piece of **** to replace but just to **** on your bonfire, it could be the lay shaft in the gearbox

if that donut is made of rubber don't smoke any where near it it WILL explode and take yer eye out
