Greetings all. Firstly sorry if this has been answered, I did a search and couldn't find anything that described the symptoms enough to convince me so I wish to pick your collective brains.

Last week my lovely 96 disco 1 developed a problem going into gear. I had just driven about 100 miles-ish along the motorway, and I tried to park. Went into reverse okay, but ever since then, I've had problems getting it into first after using reverse. And it's a bit loud when it does finally get into first. Other gears seem fine after getting it into first, if a little rougher than usual.

I called my local landy expert (who doesn't speak very good English) and he said clutch damper. Could be from what I've read, but the gearbox is leaking very slowly. This is probably related, yes?
Just in case it matters, it's had the vac pump replaced recently, and about 6 months ago had the cylinder head replaced after a user-related overheating accident.

Thanks in advance for your input, and sorry about the length of the post!
