Gear box hard to put in 3rd?

Why is my gear box hard to put in 3rd? It doesnt do it all the time but when i shift into 3rd it feels as if there is something in the way stopping it from going in gear?

Is this easy to check? Im not very mechanically minded lol

gear stick when pushed to either side should return to 3rd /4th alignment if it doesnt consol needs removing, rubber diaphragm ,tin cover over to access bias plate ,theres a verticasl plate that sits between the 2 springs that breaks off or may need adjusting

i had a pen stuck down the gator, made changing gear sad then huge amounts of joy to discover it was a pen .
