no he didnt ffs,if you want to make a td5 or any other reliable for remote useage ,fitting guages isnt the answer it has the effect of stopping people doing those real checks and carrying out real preventative work

Your response could have been taken a bit more lightly, being called a homosexual is a different matter.

james a lz member asked a civil question of something he wants to do to HIS vehicle,he wants to keep an eye on things that is happening to the engine whilst he is driving in a third world country,ie BELIEZE where parts are extremely hard to get,so he wants these gauges to help him keep an eye on things.with him being a officer in the french army, doing vehicle checks will be a strict regime every morning and afternoon.these items he wants are no different than having temp and fuel gauges in your vehicle.other manufacturers fit oil, boost and other gauges so why not him:).

ok guys let stop all this. If i offended somebody here by my question I apologize. I am just looking for an address to purchase some gear to fit in few TD5 which are running jungle on a daily basis and where we need regular info. Maintenance is top notch on all those vehicles , but we have couple of them smoking and at the last check we noticed on one piston some oil coming back up.
With that we decided to set those gauges on the vehicles concerned.
As far as maintenance the guys working with me are locals and all of them are very good at what they do but it took us a minimum of a month to get parts in the country.
that is all , case closed
best regards

you have no need to apologise at all,you asked a perfectly normal, civil question.:)

disagree if you want to keep a vehicle running in remote conditions its not guages you want but real preventative work and knowledge

yes i agree on the maintenance, but what is wrong with having extra mods to keep an eye on things when they are working in a harsh environment,ie the jungle.if you can see the oil pressure drop before the light comes on,then you can stop the engine before damage can occur.these landys are owned and run by the french army so they will be very well maintained, but all the op wanted was a bit of help.which he has now got.;);):D

How about a Nanocom V2 aswell? That should keep an eye on most things and let you clear electrickery faults if they arise

this army officer has got 12 vehicles he needs these for,he just wanted some help over finding some simple gauges to help keep an eye on things whilst away from his op base.all sorted now anyway.:D
