I am at a loss to find where the 'triangular joint washer' item number 23 goes on my 19J.
I thought that it went on the block behind the timing belt tensioner....but in no position does all 3 holes line up with anything.
Could it be for a petrol engine with a timing chain and hydraulic tensioner? Maybe a 19J does not even have a perimeter gasket for the timing case to block but relies on sealant rather than a paper gasket as per the sump. This would make some sense as if I fit a perimeter gasket, item 19, then there must be another gasket under the timing case where the studs for the tensioner are to avoid distorting the timing case.
