Garage recommendations/ones to avoid

Dear Admins,

I was wondering about a section that is devoted to forum users experiences of garages that have done work on there cars.

I am currently trying to find a good independent in the Hemel area and on another forum that I'm a memeber of The Alpina Register - the online BMW ALPINA Community there is a section where users can post there experiences of a garage - pricing/servicing/experience etc.

I think it would help us out!

Just to add to your suggestion...The Expedition Specialists Footloose 4x4 in Peterborough are superb, great knowledge, prices and customer care and service...recommend anyone to go there. Expedition Specialists.

I know its not in your area, but for anyone in the nottingham area there is a place i use for my parts called DLS Landrover in Matlock Derbyshire.

The guys there are really helpfull and will talk you over most things on the phone. they do have there own service department but if your anything like me i will always try to have a go first. (and then get someone else to fix it properly) LOL

Can anyone recommend an good independent garage around Greenwich area. I need to have some welding on a box section to which the subframe bolts on rewedded.

try LRR range rovers their at 19-21 penhall road london se78rx (0208 2939091) helped me out a few times with my p38 their really helpfull and decent prices,they can get a lot of good second hand parts for rangies even done a snif test once and didnt charge me a penny

I rang them but the guy was extremely snobbish and said they try to avoid Freelanders.

In Yorkshire area, Ray at 4x41 just down from the coal mining museum is excellent and reasonably priced, Slim at Newnham Street motors in Harrogate is also excellent but a bit more pricey than some, but he really knows his stuff. I've also used Neil Williamson from Neils Auto's in Ossett, another excellent garage my Landy's been to twice, and does MOT's as well.
