I have seen a 1995 defender for sale where the original chassis has being repaired then double dipped galvanised. I have also seen my local galvaniser do a used series 1 chassis. I would imagine this is not as good as a replacement chassis galvanised from new as internal rusting could already have occured. Has anyone experience of this, in particular if the chassis lasted well, by which i mean say another 10-15 years or did it go on to rot from the inside out in next to no time.
