I used a TD centre and tail exhaust - fitted pretty well, although you need a new centre bracket (I made one). It did take a lot of foul language before I was happy though.

ah

i have the parts laid out next to the motor but the 300 tdi tail pipe is a very odd shape and need a pic of f someone with a 300tdi defender ideally.

happy to make brackets but cant even see where the pipe goes or in what angle.
front pipe and centre look to be ok but tail pipe could be a return to famous four at this rate ( not sure they will take it back with size 12 boot print though)

so any landyzone member with some info on how a 300tdi exhaust pipe hangs, fits would be appreciated

One rear section has a big bend in it that goes over the rear axle. With all Nineties and Defenders, the exact shape of the rearmost section has quite a few variants. You may need to adapt it a bit, I had to grind the bracket off the one on my Ninety, and weld it on in a different place to pick up the rubber hanger.

That is another variant again to the several I have seen before. The big bend in the tailpipe is to go over the axle. But I am afraid I have no idea how the other pipe attaches to the midsection. It looks to point upwards, towards the tubnot forward, towards the engine.

that type for the 300 tdi goes across the rear behind the axle and secures from both chassis rails

Exhaust system.jpg

This is my 1996 300Tdi exhaust system. Different to the set up you have. Depends on the year of the vehicle as to the exhaust. Not all 300Tdi's were the same.
I've got pictures of my mounts/mounting points somewhere. I could hunt them out or take new ones if you need them, but I think you have a different system.

Well after more swearing and fiddling, the only way the tailpipe half fits is so low that it wont last two mins before it gets whacked on some rut,

so have given yp

going to see if there is an alternative and see if FF will swap it

Well it has been a while but have finally got the land rover finished..

If they are ever finished...lol

Passed MOT yesterday and been ironing out a few gremlins after my engine conversion
Diesel leak and some water drips

Then got the winter boots on it this afternoon ( Insa Turbo special tracks ) as we are wet and muddy down here in Cambridgeshire...

Just waiting on the new battery being delivered as mine is not holding charge...

then time to get it proper dirty

will upload some pics next few days

question for anyone running 200 tdi, what temp does yours run at, mine is steady at 80 ish haven't got the electric fan fitted yet
