Fumes Venting By NSF Wheel Arch

Hi All,

Just about looked at a 2004 2.0L TD Freelander but after engine was started and then turned off without going anywhere smokey fumes where came out of a pipe just in front of the front near side wheel arch. Is this normal or am I looking at a pup????

Its the heater fumes from a diesel fueled heater if I remember correctly, or could be drastic.

its normal, its some gadget called a fuel burner or some such thing. if yer hang about one of the gaylanders can explain in more detail, but it is normal

Do a search for FBH and you'll find a lot of info.
It's normal though.

do a search for fuel burning heater, not FBH. FBH won't return any hits as the search engine ignores anything of three letters or less

That's odd, I tested it before I made the suggestion and it turned up 4 pages!

Had same result. Using the "Google custom search" on top of the page just above the forum "Search" knob.

fair doo's, in the past the forum search always ignored 3 letters or less, I stand happily corrected, and apologise if the information I gave was in anyway misleading.
