I would imagine a sensor at fault. Probably needs plugging in to see or try unplugging one at a time to see if the default setting improves things

thanks ive had it plugged in and no fault showing only maf not 100 % but ok intermitant whitch sensor to unplug

Unplug maf and try it because if it’s faulty the ecu will take a default setting. If it runs better that’s your problem. Otherwise try the map sensor

If its running ok when warm the MAF sensor is unlikely to be at fault. If its rough on a cold start it could be the glow plugs are not working.

its runs lovely when first started after a couple of minutes it starts missing then cuts out it starts again and same again three or four times till warm its like fuel starvation worse on cold days

i thought that but its not that cold at the moment ill have a go at it tommorow ,im going to start it if it plays up i try taking wire of maff air flow sensor its got me baffled

I believe that if you unplug the MAF on a Tdci, it will just go into limp mode. Be prepared to plug your diagnostic tool in to clear the fault when you reconnect the MAF.

i unplugged it while it was running made no difference so i cleaned it and put it back warmer today so was ok

The map sensor on the inlet manifold can get dirty and cause issues on the td5. Not sure if puma engine the same

i took map sensor out it was so cacked up with carbon i couldnt see through it. i socked it in that moly stuff for cleaning mass sensors and gently cleaned it what a difference when i road tested it , i think it was first time cleaning since new 2007
