Howdy. :)

So this afternoon I removed the old leaky tank and replaced it with a lovely new one. I just have some questions about the fuel pipe and sender unit.

Firstly, what the technical name for this pipe that actually takes the fuel to the engine and where can I get a new one, as I couldn't seem to see it on the paddock spares website :/

And secondly, I bought a new sender unit for the float thing and it turns out its a britparts one, it looks completely different from the one I currently have and the float is on a seperate peice of wire.. It also has two contacts for wires and the current one only has one.. Piccys - Sender unit - Imgur

Can anyone help a newbie out? :p

Hi ABSW

Did exactly the same job myself today, did your new tank line up properly, i.e, bolt holes, fuel neck etc? I had to replace bolts and extend the fuel pipe to get it all to work.

Holy damn at the prices of the pickup pipe! I will check out the other part numbers, thanks. :D

My tank lined up fine, I thought fitting it would be a two person job, but I propped it up on the old tank and then got some bolts in to hold it up. :)

Hey guys .

Does anyone know if the new pipe - 544658 come with the gauze filter attached? Removed mine today and it is amazing the old girl would even run with the amount of crud on it!

Thanks in advance.

I think the senders with two contacts are meant for diesels. One contact is for the fuel gauge, the other is for the low fuel warning light. The warning light isn't as important in a petrol so they don't have it.
